Recently, my son moved out of state. Before he moved, however, it was not uncommon for me to transfer money into his account to help with some of his financial needs as he was still in school and sometimes found it difficult to make ends meet. However, after he transferred to an out of state school, I found it incredibly difficult to find a safe, convenient or economic way in which to send him money when needed. When I mentioned this to my credit union, they asked where he was now living and explained that through their shared branching program, he could walk into any participating credit union where he lived and withdraw money out of his 1st Financial account whenever he needed to do so. No fees. No limits. I love knowing I have the convenience of banking wherever I travel, and wherever my family travels.
